So I was at the annual Memorial Day used book sale picking up some paperbacks, gladly preparing to pay the .50 each because all the money raised goes the the local library - and there nestled between a Marian Keyes and Heather Graham was a Melissa Ford. Four Weeks by Melissa Ford to be exact. Why does that matter? Because I'm Melissa Ford and Four Weeks is my book. Too funny! I think seeing one of your books at a used book sale must be some type of author turning point. Like the first time you get offered a free coffee at a book store. It's one of those things you don't think about or expect, but when it happens you get that somehow you've crossed some thresold. Of course I bought it. In a couple days I'll be on my way to LA for the 2008 Book Expo America . If you're around, stop by the Jasmine Jade booth. I'll be signing on Saturday, May 31st from 11 - 1, but there'll be authors signing pretty much all day Friday, May 30th and Saturday, May 31st. Last time I was in LA, I was attending the RWA national conference as an Golden Heart finalist in the traditional romance (read: very sweet, No Sex) category. This time I'll be signing my erotic romance books. Hmmm...guess my career path took a turn I wasn't expecting. That's the fun thing about life you never know what's coming next.

Hard Fall will be out July 30. If you've been reading my stuff since I was with Venus Press, you might remember "Well Hung" in the Hard Hats, Hard Bodies anthology. Hard Fall is a revised edition of "Well Hung," so the story is the basically the same, only now there's even more of the good stuff. I usually get a bit stressed while filling out the covert art form. It's hard to boil down the tone of the story, the personliaty of the characters. But I shouldn't, because the art department at Ellora's Cave is fantastic. Isn't this an awesome cover?

Why does my blue hair look green in this picture? I'd like to blame my leprechaun locks on the hotel hallway lighting but I think it has more to do with the limitations of my camera phone. This is the sort of thing that happens when you forget things. Important things. Like cameras. But thanks to awesome people like Ellora's Cave author Kaenar Langford, you can still see what went on.
